November 06, (THEWILL0 – The English national football team announced on Monday, that they will host Brazil and Belgium in March friendlies at Wembley Stadium, as they continue preparations for the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament.
The England Football Association confirmed the matches will provide important tests for manager Gareth Southgate’s squad against elite opposition.
Both England and Belgium hope to fine-tune their teams ahead of the European Championships next summer, while Brazil aim to gear up for the 2024 Copa America tournament.
The last meeting between England and Brazil came in 2017, a dull 0-0 draw. Several players from that match remain in the England set-up, but young stars like Jude Bellingham will face Brazil for the first time.
England’s focus first turns to sealing top seeding for Euro 2024 by defeating Malta and North Macedonia in their final qualifying matches this month. The Brazil and Belgium games, therefore, provide an early gauge of their preparedness for the challenges that await in Germany.
