September 03, (THEWILL) – The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has expressed his readiness to intervene in the lingering Fulani crisis in the country in order to find a permanent solution to the problems.

“But this can only be done if the Federal Government will give me full support to achieve my mission because they have the might and what it takes to make my strategy work, while I will provide the ideas and the methodologies on how to go about it,” Sanusi said.

He made the offer while receiving the leadership of Tapital Pulaku Njode Jam Nigeria on Tuesday, at his palace.

The Fulani group draws membership from the 36 States of the federation under the leadership of Modibbo Ibrahim Buba Jada.

During the visit, members of the group extended their allegiance to the Emir at his Gidan Rumfa palace.

“No doubt, Fulanis in Nigeria have suffered heavy attacks, isolation, killings, destruction and rustling of their cattle. All these things were carried out across the country and something needs to be done to arrest the situation.

“However, it is true that there are some bad eggs amongst the Fulanis who have spoiled the good name of the tribe and subjected them to what they are suffering today.

“This is the time for the government to join hands with us to find a permanent solution to the crises, more especially between the Fulanis and the farmers and also where they are suspected to be carrying out other crimes.

“I am personally ready to help the government to achieve the desired objective of having peace and prosperity among the Fulanis and indeed, other Nigerians. Their suffering should stop. I believe together we can do it,” the Emir said.

In his remarks, the leader of the group, Madibo Ibrahim Buba Jada, said they were at the Emir’s palace to extend their allegiance to him for his return as their leader who was appointed long ago by the Lamido of Adamawa.

Jada said that all members of the group in the 36 states of the federation are in support of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II because they believe he is a leader who cares for them.

He said they believed that the Emir had what it takes to correct their battered image and set the records straight.
