August 12, (THEWILL) – Michael Emenalo, the Director of Football for the Saudi Pro League, has endorsed Al-Hilal’s ambitious move for Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen.
Throughout the summer transfer season, the talented striker has been the focus of intense transfer speculation, with top European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid, seemingly unwilling to meet Napoli’s bloated asking price.
Although Napoli previously rejected two massive prospective bids from Al-Hilal for Osimhen, the Saudi club is set to return with renewed vigour if the player signals his interest.
Reports monitored by THEWILL indicate that the 24-year-old forward has been offered a massive salary package that could make him the highest-paid African footballer by a long mile. His family and friends are said to support a potential switch to Saudi Arabia, though Osimhen seems inclined to stay put in Naples, with rumours of a contract extension through 2027.
Offering perspective, ex-Chelsea director, Michael Emenalo, has reached out to his fellow Nigerian, Osimhen, urging him to consider Al-Hilal’s offer. Emenalo praised Osimhen’s talent and added: “I am sure that Napoli will manage, they will overcome it and will be able to find another Nigerian, who is just as strong.”
