BEVERLY HILLS, April 06, (THEWILL) – The Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has boasted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will not win a single local government in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

Speaking on People, Politics and Power, a programme on African Independent Television (AIT), Fayose said his predecessor, Kayode Fayemi, now Minister of Solid Minerals Development, was free to seek to return to office.

Fayose described himself as a “street boy” saying he is fully prepared to face the “whole machinery” of the federal government warning the APC to be conscious of the fact that “Ekiti is not Ondo”.

He further described himself as God’s anointed, telling Nigerians that he is one politician they should look out for adding that as “Peter the rock”, anyone he hits, lands in trouble.

“If Fayemi feels like coming back, it is a legitimate decision, let him do that by first getting the ticket of his political party,” he said.

“But if APC wins one local government in Ekiti, come 2018, I will concede that election.

“Today, they control the army, they control the police, they have the DSS, they have power, but democracy has gone beyond powers that be, and besides this is Ekiti, where I have the people.

“The people of Ekiti love me to death. They love me so much, I don’t know how I managed to gain their love and confidence, if not for the constitution, I will spend 10 tenures.

“They will meet me in Ekiti. Nobody can stop me because my name is Peter, the rock, you hit me, you are in trouble, I hit you, you are in trouble.

“I am the first Nigerian politician to defeat two incumbent governors at two different attempts. I am their master. I am going to be facing the whole machinery of the federal government, and I am fully prepared. They should forget about hijacking Ekiti. It’s shameful for the federal government to be taking states.

“I am the longest serving Nigerian governor. I served under Obasanjo, as powerful as Obasanjo was, I served there.

“They took me out and I came back. The day I met Obasanjo at the villa during my first meeting at the council chambers, I walked up to Obasanjo and said, ‘Baba, I have come back, maybe you are not aware.

“All I am saying is that Ekiti is not Ondo, I am fully ready. I am a street boy. I am streetwise to the core. I don’t have another business outside politics, so I am ready. If you leave your clothe for a mad man, he will rub it on the ground, so, I won’t leave this one for Fayemi.”
