September 10, (THEWILL) – The Forum of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leaders in Edo North Senatorial District has expressed sadness over the death of a former Commissioner For Budget and Planning, Hajia Mariam Abubakar.

THEWILL reports that Hajia Mariam Abubakar died from an undisclosed illness on Thursday, in Abuja.

Reacting to the development in a condolence message issued by the APC Senatorial Women Leader on behalf of others, Dr. Omoua Oni-Okpaku, described Hajia Abubakar as a trailblazer and Quintessential former Commissioner, who led the way for Women’s participation in politics and governance.

The Forum said Hajia Abubakar embodied the quality Women need to thrive in Edo State political space and her wisdom and guidance will be greatly missed, saying the deceased contributions to the State and Nation will never be forgotten.

The Forum further commiserated with her immediate family, the people of Auchi Kingdom in Etsako West Council, the Government and the people of Edo State for the exit of their illustrious daughter.

“I join others to pray for the repose of her soul and for God to comfort all the loved ones she left behind,” Dr.Oni-Okpaku added.
