SAN FRANCISCO, August 05, (THEWILL) – The Deputy Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly and lawmaker representing Akoko-Edo State Constituency I in the State assembly, Hon. Yekini Idiaye has been impeached days after pledging his support for the Pastor Ize-Iyamu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the September governorship election.

The Assembly elected Hon. Roland Asero as the new Deputy Speaker, while Henry Ohkuarobo was elected as the new House Leader.

THEWILL gathered that he was impeached during Wednesday’s plenary.

Hon. Idiaye had accused Governor Godwin Obaseki, the candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of non-performance during his visit to Ize-Iyamu.
