Edo Boosts Financial Literacy For 600 MSMEs

April 19, (THEWILL) – The Edo State Government is organising a financial literacy workshop for 600 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), across the three senatorial districts of the state.

The Director, MSMEs Development, Edo State Ministry of Industry Trade and Co-operatives, Omonbude Oyedoh, said the Financial Literacy Workshop is being organised in collaboration with GIZ/SEDIN-GOPA on April 19, 2022.

“The target is to capture 600 MSMEs across the three Senatorial Districts of Edo State – 400 from Edo South, 100 from Edo North and 100 from Edo Central.

“The purpose of the programme is to improve MSMEs ability to access credit, financial management capacity, marketing, networking etc, which were observed in a needs assessment carried out by the Ministry to be operational gaps of these MSMEs”, he said.

Oyedoh said, 100 MSMEs were trained in the first phase of the programme, noting, “The programme continues with commencement of the training of 2nd batch of 150 MSMEs, which is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, 19th April 2022 by 9.30 am, at the ICT Agency’s Hall, Odigie Oyegun Public Service Centre, Okada Avenue, GRA, Benin City.”
