August 01, (THEWILL) – The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the September 21, 2024, governorship election in Edo State, Udoh Oberaifo, has commended Governor Godwin Obaseki for standing by the people and supporting the call to end bad governance in Nigeria.
Oberaifo also commended the Edo State Commissioner of Police for providing security and showing patriotism towards the youth’s efforts in building a better Nigeria through the #EndBadGovernance protest.
Speaking with newsmen on Thursday, in Benin, Oberaifo said being in opposition does not mean that he would turn a blind eye to the truth when he sees it.
“Today, I commend Governor Godwin Obaseki for supporting the August 1 protest to end bad governance in the country. While we have previously critiqued his administration, it’s important to acknowledge this show of leadership and patriotism.
“Expecting perfection from any leader is inhumane. Obaseki has made some commendable policies that will stand the test of time in Edo State. It’s a significant move, aligning with the voices of our youth demanding improvement in governance.
“Youth must thrive, not just survive. Revamping the technological sector with 18 tech hubs across all LGAs will fully involve the youth in governance, providing jobs and reducing their use as election tools,” he said.
