November 27, (THEWILL) – The chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Chief Chikaodiri Ojemba, has vowed to keep supporting Governor Francis Nwifuru, who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said whether, in party A or C, he will keep on supporting the governor as according to him, blood was thicker than water.
Ojemba, who contested Ebonyi North Senatorial election in the 2023 general election, stated this in his Abakaliki residence on Sunday night, while speaking with journalists after collecting a Chieftaincy title from Izzi Development Union (IDU), an umbrella body of all Izzi people in the state.
He described Nwifuru as his brother and that it was his duty, to ensure that he succeeded as the governor of the state, by giving him all the necessary support to deliver.
He vowed that he was even more prepared to mobilise support for the governor’s second tenure than he did in the 2023 general election, despite being in PDP.
“There is this adage, that blood is thicker than water. I ran for Senate on the platform of PDP and lost in the court. I took it in good faith.
“While I was running for Senate in PDP, I told my brother who was running for governor in APC that I would support him and I supported him fully. I gave him all the support he needed until he won the election and I will give more to him in his 2nd tenure.
“I will keep on supporting the governor because he is my brother whether in party A or party C, whatever support he needs, I will give it to him.
“The government is our government, if the governor fails, I am the one that has failed. If he wins, I am the one that has won and for that reason, whatever he needs to deliver, I will give it to him”, he stated.
The business mogul called on youths to be focused and dedicated, adding that the future was very bright for them.
“My fellow youths should be focused, dedicated and prayerful because the future is very bright for all of us because dedication and focused without prayer does not go anywhere.
“I thank the Governor who has given us a level playing ground in the state. He is a governor that is interested in the progress of his people, a governor that wants more investors in the state, a governor that wants development in his state”.
Ojemba disclosed that his scholarship scheme has produced 50 graduates with many more undergraduates in the scheme currently.
“Scholarship is not a new thing to me. I have over 50 graduates who have benefited from my scholarship scheme. I spread it to communities so that it will go round and I am not scared because God who is providing what I am using to sponsor these indigent students will increase it”, he submitted. ENDS
