May 25, (THEWILL) – The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ebonyi State, Mrs Mercy Bamai, has charged the 2022 Batch ‘B’ stream ‘1’ out-going corps members to always exhibit honesty in all their dealings, urging them to positively affect the society.
Bamai gave the charge during the passing out ceremony at the corps Secretariat in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
Bamai said by being truthful and honest, the society will automatically change for good, encouraging all the corps members to be good ambassadors of Nigeria wherever they find themselves.
She, however, debunked the ongoing rumour that gunmen shot a corps member dead.
“We got information that a corps member was shot dead, immediately, we rushed to the lodge where we discovered that the guy was not a serving corps member, rather the guy by the name Onwachei Kelvin was dwelling among other corps members pretending to be a serving corps member at Winners Corps Members’ Lodge,” she said.
Bamai said a total of 905 corps members comprising 285 males and 620 females successfully completed the one-year mandatory service year, while 11 corps members were extended and 5 absconded.
