April 19, (THEWILL) – Aad de Mos, the legendary Dutch football tactician, best known in the annals of Nigerian football history for guiding deceased Nigerian legend, Stephen Keshi, at RSC Anderlecht, is encouraging Feyenoord to offer Nigerian forward Cyriel Dessers a permanent contract.
In the last summer transfer window, the Super Eagles’ international joined the Eredivisie side on loan from Racing Genk, with a €4 million buyout clause included in the deal.
Despite not being guaranteed a starting spot, Dessers has outperformed expectations at Feyenoord, scoring fifteen goals and setting up four teammates in 34 all-competition games.
With eight goals in the Europa Conference League, the 27-year-old has outperformed every other player in the novel competition.
Danilo, the Brazilian striker who is out of contract at Ajax in June, has been linked with a summer move to Feyenoord. However, de Mos thinks Dessers will be better, saying: “Dessers is a certainty. It is not casino luck, he all makes beautiful goals. No ticks or penalties.
“That combination just works well. You can’t get rid of Dessers if you win the Conference League, you can’t do that to your fans. Better than Danilo.”
Before his loan move to Feyenoord, Dessers was behind Paul Onuachu and Ike Ugbo in the Racing Genk striker pecking order.
