October 21, (THEWILL) – Asisat Oshoala scored twice as Barcelona thrashed Granada 6-1 at Estadi Johan Cruyff on Saturday evening. The Nigerian striker grabbed a quickfire brace in the second half to round out the scoring for the Catalans. Her first came courtesy of an assist from Aitana Bonmati before Mariona Caldentey teed her up again just minutes later.
Oshoala’s double added to goals from Patricia Guijarro, Ona Batlle, Salma Paralluelo, and Caldentey as Barcelona’s attacking talents ran riot. Guijarro had opened the scoring early on, but Granada initially stood firm in defence. It took until late in the second half for the floodgates to truly open.
Paralluelo finally converted one of her many chances after a goalmouth scramble. Mariona then latched onto a Guijarro through ball to make it 4-0 before Oshoala took over. Granada managed a late consolation goal but were ultimately no match for the league leaders.
Oshoala’s brace helped Barcelona claim another emphatic victory and underlined her quality in attack. She was one of their standout performers as Barca made it look easy against their Andalusian opponents.
With Oshoala in this kind of form, Barcelona seem capable of blowing away any team. Their attacking play was far too much for Granada to handle.
