April 14, (THEWILL) –  Nollywood actress and mother of four, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, has advised people, particularly intending couples, not to be discouraged by the recent horrid stories about marriage.

She made the statement while reflecting on the controversies over the death of gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachakwu and cases of abuses in marriage.

Osinachi, aged 42, passed away at an Abuja hospital last Friday. She was alleged to have been a victim of domestic assault from Peter Nwachakwu, her now embattled husband.

The singer was thought to have died of throat cancer, but her associates claimed it might be connected to an alleged assault by her husband, who is now being investigated by the police.

Her death has reignited discussion on rising cases of domestic violence in marriages.

In a post on her Instagram page, the actress stated that the abuses witnessed in some marriages should not be generalised.

She added that good marriages still exist and enjoined those planning to get married not to panic.

“I know that there are many horrid stories about marriage that screams loud. But I don’t know who needs to hear this, fear not.

“For every bad marriage that makes the news, there are over a thousand very loving and prosperous marriages that don’t.”
