Don’t Allow Those Who Wrecked Nigeria Return To Power – Nyong Advises Nigerians

February 23, (THEWILL) – Ahead of Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections, Nigerians have been advised not to allow those who wrecked the country to return to power.

The Cross River State gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Effiong Nyong, stated this in Calabar, at the sideline of a one-million-man march in support of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

He maintained that the time has come when people should no longer sit on the fence when it comes to issues of who to govern Nigeria.

He said the citizens of the country should have love for the revival of the nation and join hands with Obi/Datti to bail Nigeria out of its present predicament.

“Enough of this mess to allow the same people who wrecked Nigeria’s economy to return to power again.

“I think Nigerians are afraid of saying vote Obi/Datti, instead they say vote wisely; the wisdom they are talking about lies in the fact that LP has a more credible presidential candidate.

“The name Peter Obi is today, seen as a metaphor for wisdom, but what we are saying is that Nigerians should be bold to say it the way it is, vote Obi,” the gubernatorial hopeful said.

He further described Peter Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, as the only credible ones with the capacity to solve Nigeria’s socioeconomic problems.

He warned that it will be catastrophic if the same people, who destroyed Nigeria’s economy and unleashed poverty and hard times on the people, return to power.

“The hardship faced by the nation shows that this set of people have lost ideas on how to pilot the nation’s affairs.

“They have exhausted the ideas that they have and they are bringing nothing to the table. And they are the same people asking people to vote for them because there is hope,” he added.

Nyong added that the rally is the final push in Cross River to reawaken the spirit of the Obi/Datti movement in the state before this weekend’s presidential and national assembly election.

THEWILL reports that the ADC and Labour Party have officially resolved to work together in the state to ensure the success of the Obi/Datti presidential campaign.
