March 06, (THEWILL) – Cremonese and Sassuolo played out an enthralling encounter at the Mapei Stadium, which saw Sassuolo emerge victorious in a 3-2 win despite the best efforts of Cyriel Dessers.

Cremonese were denied a second consecutive victory, despite staging an impressive comeback to level the scores at 2-2 through the Nigerian international.

Sassuolo took the lead in the first half, with Armand Laurienté’s free-kick breaking the deadlock, before doubling their advantage shortly after through Davide Frattesi. Cremonese responded with a physical approach, which saw Dessers score two goals to level the scores at two all.

Despite this impressive comeback, Cremonese were denied a point by a late winner from Sassuolo’s January signing, Nedim Bajrami. The midfielder scored with a powerful right-foot finish, after receiving a perfectly-timed pass from Laurienté, to seal the win for Sassuolo with only four minutes left to play.

Cremonese will be looking to bounce back from this defeat when they take on Fiorentina in their next match on Sunday, while Sassuolo will face a tough test against Roma on the same day.
