March 23, (THEWILL)- Denmark’s hopes of maintaining their impressive home form were dashed on Saturday, as Kasper Hjulmand’s side were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Switzerland in an international friendly at Parken Stadium.
The hosts dominated possession from the outset but struggled to carve out clear-cut chances against a resolute Swiss defence. Manchester United striker Rasmus Højlund went closest for Denmark, forcing a smart save from Yvon Mvogo after cutting in from the left.
Switzerland offered little going forward in the first half but Remo Freuler should have given them the lead when his tame header from a Ruben Vargas corner failed to trouble Kasper Schmeichel on his 100th appearance for Denmark.

After the break, the visitors carried more of an attacking threat, with Vargas hitting the side netting after a mazy run. Christian Eriksen then stung the palms of Mvogo with a venomous free-kick as Denmark pressed for a winner.
However, Hjulmand’s men were ultimately frustrated in their attempts to break down Murat Yakin’s well-organised Switzerland side. The stalemate marks the first time since November 2022 that Denmark have failed to win at home.
