BEVERLY HILLS, December 24, (THEWILL) – Former NSA, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd) is now a free man after the Department of State Services (DSS) released him following a directive by the Attorney General of the Federation of Justice Minister, Mr. Abubakar Malami.
Dasuki had been in detention for over four years over allegations that he mismanaged billions of naira meant for the fight against the Boko Haram.
The federal government had refused to release him on bail as ordered by the courts until Mr. Malami directed his release Tuesday as well as that of Sowore Omoleye, who was also being held for a different matter despite a court order approving his release on bail.
Dasuki’s lawyer, Ahmed Raji, SAN, confirmed his release to the media.
