Cultists Wreak Violence On Ojo, Lagos

July 25, (THEWILL) – Armed men suspected to be cultists this Sunday laid siege to Otto Awori and Ijanikin communities in the Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos state.

The cultists attacked several residents of the area with knives and other dangerous weapons.

THEWILL learnt that the attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday, at about 11am when some residents of the area were going to their different Churches.

Some eyewitnesses at the scene said that police officers, who were attached to Ijanikin Divisional Police fired some cans of teargas into the air from the Vespa Bus Stop to Ile Oba Bus Stop.

The sources added that the cultists on sighting the police officers turned back and started running out of the area, in an attempt to evade arrest.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, when contacted said that the Police are trying to get details of what really transpired in the community. He also promised to issue a statement when the Police get hold of the matter.
