Cross River: Obudu Cargo Airport At 80% Completion – Aviation Commissioner

February 01, (THEWILL) – The Cross River State Aviation Commissioner, Associate Professor Jake Otu Enyia, has disclosed that the state’s N37 billion cargo airport at Obudu is at 80 percent completion.

Enyia made the disclosure at the ministerial press briefing organised by the Cross River State Information Commissioner, Eric Anderson, to highlight the government’s achievements in the aviation sector.

He maintained that the airport will be 100% completed and put to use before the exit of the present administration.

The Commissioner also assured that the state-owned Cally Air will be completely licensed with the Air Operating License secured within the lifespan of the Ayade administration.

He said with the airport, the state is going to harness all the utilities of the Obudu Ranch Resort and the best bet for the functionality of the resort is the airport project.

He also disclosed that the sector has changed the story of the state.

Enyia equally disclosed that a third Boeing 737 aircraft will be acquired to enable the state to obtain an AOC to independently manage its aircraft.

He highlighted that the aim of his Ministry, which is the first by any State Government in Nigeria, is to ensure that the state enjoys benefits as far as the tourism and agro-business sector is concerned.

Earlier, Eric Anderson, the State’s Information Commissioner, said the essence of the bi-monthly briefing is to get the public informed of the achievements of the Professor Ben Ayade-led administration.
