Blazevic was best known for his remarkable career that spanned 47 years, during which he won trophies with six different clubs. His greatest accomplishment was ending Dinamo Zagreb’s 24-year wait for the Yugoslav First League title in 1982.

Blazevic’s legacy is undoubtedly cemented by his time in charge of the Croatian national team. In 1998, he guided the team to a historic third-place finish in their first-ever World Cup appearance. The Croatian Football Federation confirmed Blazevic’s passing in a statement and expressed their condolences to his loved ones on behalf of the entire Croatian football community.
