SAN FRANCISCO, November 02, (THEWILL) – Eredivisie giants AFC Ajax will be missing a host of first-team players for their UEFA Champions League tie against FC Midtjylland after COVID-19 ripped through the club.

The table-topping side confirmed that a drastically reduced squad would make the trip to Denmark without providing any further details. However, reports monitored by THEWILL claim that Erik ten Hag will be without first team squad players like Dusan Tadic, Davy Klaassen, André Onana, Maarten Stekelenburg and Ryan Gravenberch for the fixture.

These reports add that as many as 11 players from the Ajax first team and the youth team tested positive for coronavirus, with the club awaiting results on secondary tests.

It is also claimed that the Ajax coach will speak to the media to give an official explanation of the state of the team. THEWILL will cover the details as they are made public.
