Court Adjourns Ruling On El-Zakzaky’s Bail Application

BEVERLY HILLS, October 04, (THEWILL) – The Kaduna State High Court, has again, adjourned its ruling on the bail application of the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, to November 7, 2018.

According to the defence and prosecuting counsels, the adjournment was due to the absence of Zakzaky
and his wife in court over security concerns because of Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s visit to the state today.

The presiding judge, Justice Gideon Kurada, had fixed today for the hearing following the written application filed by El-Zakzaky’s counsel during the last sitting on August 2, 2018.

The IMN leader is facing trial over allegations of culpable homicide, unlawful assembly, and disruption of public peace, among other charges.

Himself and his wife were first arraigned on May 15, 2018, following their arrest in Zaria, in December 2015.
