February 01, (THEWILL) – Antonio Conte underwent surgery on Wednesday, to remove his gallbladder due to a cholecystitis diagnosis.
As THEWILL reported, Tottenham Hotspur announced the surgery after Conte began to experience severe abdominal pain.
The Italian will now take a break from football to recover and posted on his Instagram story: “Thank you for your lovely messages, my surgery has gone well and I’m already feeling better. Now’s time to recover, I can’t wait to get back on the field with the team.”
While Conte is recovering, Tottenham’s Assistant Manager, Cristian Stellini, is expected to take charge of the team. The club has a busy schedule ahead, with crucial fixtures against Manchester City, Leicester City, and Milan in the Champions League.
Spurs are currently fifth in the Premier League, three points behind fourth-placed Manchester United who have played one game less.
