June 08, (THEWILL) – Victor Osimhen has reached another impressive milestone in what has been a fulfilling year for the Nigerian forward.
The 24-year-old is now recognised as the most valuable African footballer globally after being listed among the top 100 most valuable footballers worldwide, according to the esteemed CIES Football Observatory.
The CIES report, which employed an exclusive statistical model developed in-house, reveals that Osimhen’s value stands at a remarkable €77.3 million. This valuation places the striker at an impressive 40th position in the global rankings, making him the highest-ranked African player within the top 100 list.
His extraordinary contributions on the field, including leading Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years, have undoubtedly boosted his worth. Notably, Osimhen’s valuation outshines that of Mohamed Salah, the renowned Liverpool and Egyptian football superstar, with the left footer’s estimated value pitched at €61.2 million.
Additionally, two other African players, Achraf Hakimi from Morocco and Mohammed Kudus from Ghana, were included on the list, with valuations of €53.7 million and €53.5 million, respectively.
