Chelsea Open To Gallagher Transfer Amid Interest From West Ham, Tottenham

July 25, (THEWILL) – Chelsea are reportedly open to the possibility of offloading Conor Gallagher during the summer transfer window, as long as potential suitors are willing to meet the club’s valuation.

The 23-year-old midfielder had a fair share of appearances for Chelsea in the English Premier League last season, scoring three goals. However, he struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under the management of Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and Frank Lampard. With the Mauricio Pochettino era underway, Chelsea have already seen a number of central midfielders leave including Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante, and Mateo Kovacic, and the club seems open to letting Gallagher depart if the right offer comes in.

One of the potential suitors for Gallagher is West Ham United, who have expressed interest in the player. While reports of a formal £40m offer have been denied, the club is said to have made an enquiry about his price tag. Chelsea, on the other hand, would reportedly consider selling Gallagher for around £50m.

However, Pochettino has not ruled out the possibility of the player staying at Stamford Bridge to compete for a place in the team. Despite Gallagher’s concerns about his long-term prospects at Chelsea, the midfielder remains open to exploring a move away from the club. Tottenham is also said to be monitoring the Gallagher situation, while Brighton and Hove Albion previously held talks over a potential move but was deterred by Chelsea’s valuation.

West Ham’s interest in Gallagher is part of their broader search for reinforcements, with the club having significant funds available following their record-breaking £105m signing of Declan Rice from Arsenal. Other players targeted by West Ham include Scott McTominay and James Ward-Prowse, both of whom are homegrown talents. The club’s new Technical Director, Tim Steidten, is actively scouting Europe for more affordable options to bolster their squad.
