June 07, (THEWILL) – Chelsea have completed the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham. The 26-year-old defender has agreed to a four-year deal with the west London club after his contract at Craven Cottage expired.

Adarabioyo expressed his excitement about the move, saying: “Chelsea is a huge club and this is a full-circle moment for me. I was born three miles away from Stamford Bridge and made my professional debut there. I’m very excited and looking forward to helping push the club in the direction we want to go.”

The signing sees Adarabioyo join Chelsea, following the departure of Thiago Silva. He links up with new head coach, Enzo Maresca, and it is a conclusion of a process that started when the Blues entered advanced talks for the former Manchester City Academy product at the start of June.

Newcastle United had also been tracking Adarabioyo long-term and were hopeful of securing a deal for him this summer. The centre-back turned down offers to renew his contract at Fulham, having also rejected a new deal during the 2022/2023 campaign.

Adarabioyo made 132 appearances for Fulham after joining from Manchester City in a deal worth up to £2 million, helping the team re-establish themselves in the English Premier League following relegation in 2021.
