November 15, (THEWILL) – Manchester United veteran midfielder Casemiro could be on his way out of Old Trafford. The 31-year-old Brazilian international, who joined the Red Devils in 2022, is reportedly a target for clubs in the Saudi Pro League, who are willing to pay big money to acquire his services.
With incoming part-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, looking to freshen up the United squad, Casemiro may be deemed expendable despite being a regular starter since his arrival. Ratcliffe’s expected investment in the club could finance a rebuild that involves moving on high-earning veterans like Casemiro in favour of younger talent.
Also, Jadon Sancho could be offered an escape route by Juventus. The Italian giants have reportedly reached out regarding a potential loan move for the 23-year-old England international, who has not played since his fallout with the manager. However, Juventus would likely baulk at matching the £73 million United paid for Sancho in 2021.
A loan could benefit both parties, with Sancho getting the playing time he lacks at United and Juventus adding a young, talented winger without a massive outlay. However, United may be reluctant to loan out the player given their substantial investment unless wages are covered. Still, if Sancho remains on the fringes, a loan to Serie A could be plausible.
With an ownership transition forthcoming, the next few transfer windows could see major changes at Manchester United as they look to revamp an underperforming squad.
