November 09, (THEWILL) – In a friendly match on Wednesday, intended to give home supporters a chance to say goodbye to the World Cup-bound team, Cameroon drew 1-1 with Jamaica with just one player who is likely to be in the squad in Qatar.
Due to the encounter taking place outside of the FIFA timeframe for international matches, Coach Rigobert Song was forced to choose from players who are now stationed at home and none of whom are in the running for a spot on the World Cup roster.
The only player likely to travel to Qatar who was available to play was veteran striker, Vincent Aboubakar, who plays his club football in Saudi Arabia. Aboubakar also served as captain of the team.
After an hour, Jamaica took the lead thanks to Justin McMaster, and 17 minutes from time, Djamal Kaiba of Cameroon equalised as neither of the two sides was able to find a winner before the final whistle.
