Despite enjoying a dream start at the beginning of the season, Enzo Maresca’s Man City have now lost their last two Premier League matches to dent their Premier League title race.

Brighton are the highest-scoring team in the Premier League this season with 24 goals, and they have now beaten Arsenal and Manchester City this season.

The victory moved them up to third on the Premier League table with 19 points from nine matches, while Man City remains on top of the log ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Liverpool on Sunday.

Man City’s summer signing, Elliot Anderson, was disappointed with the team’s performance in the defeat.

He said: “We created a lot of chances. Disappointing to lose. Didn’t manage to put chances away, on another day we put three or four away, We have to bounce back for the Champions League game in a couple of days.

“Three in midfield, man for man and we had the wingers staying high and wide. We did have the width but we didn’t manage to get the chances away which is unfortunate but we’ll have to work on it.

“We’re all disappointed. Not good enough, we don’t want to be losing games but we’ve got to stick together. We’ve had a great start to the season, two disappointing results now but we have to stick together.”
