September 22, (THEWILL) – Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest played to a 2-2 draw at the Amex Stadium, extending both teams’ unbeaten starts to the 2024/2025 English Premier League season. The match featured several momentum shifts, with Forest taking an early lead before Brighton fought back to go ahead, only for Forest to equalise in the second half.

Chris Wood opened the scoring for Forest from the penalty spot after 13 minutes. Brighton struggled initially but turned the tide just before half-time with two quick goals. Jack Hinshelwood headed in the equaliser in the 42nd minute, followed by Danny Welbeck’s free-kick giving Brighton a 2-1 lead heading into the break.

Forest battled back in the second half, with substitute Ramon Sosa netting the equaliser in the 70th minute. The visitors finished the match with 10 men after Morgan Gibbs-White received a second yellow card. Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo was also sent off for his reaction to the dismissal.

The draw marks a milestone for Brighton, who have gone five games unbeaten to start a top-flight campaign for the first time in club history. They sit seventh in the league table after this result. Forest continue their strong start to the season, now on nine points from five matches following their victory over Liverpool the previous weekend.

Both teams will look to build on their positive beginnings in subsequent fixtures. Brighton aims to maintain their impressive form, while Forest will be encouraged by their resilient performance away from home against a tough opponent.
