February 12, (THEWILL) – Hassan Danbaba, the grandson of the Premier of the defunct Northen Region, late Sir Ahmadu Bello, is dead.
Close family source, Alhaji Buhari Sarkin Tudun Jabo, said Danbaba died on Saturday afternoon at 44 Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna after a brief illness.
“We are in serious shock, therefore, I cannot give details of the deceased as at now. We are preparing the remains of the deceased to be taken to Sokoto for burial.
“He would be buried in his home state, Sokoto, today. It is a great loss not only to the immediate members of his family, Sokoto State but for the entire nation,” said Alhaji Jabo.
Leadership reports that his remains have been flown to Sokoto for burial.
Danbaba, 51, who held the title of Magajin Garin Sokoto, was the chairman of Stonehedge Hotels.
He left behind three wives and six children.
His mother, Aishatu Ahmadu Bello, the second daughter of the late premier of Northern Nigeria, died at the age of 75 in April 2021.
