August 01, (THEWILL) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released the immediate past President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, from its custody.
Saraki was granted administrative bail by the commission after hours of interrogation over alleged theft and laundering of public funds while he was Governor of Kwara State.
THEWILL reports that the EFCC had detained Saraki over alleged theft and laundering of public funds using a network of cronies and proxy companies through unexpected contracts in Kwara State, while he was Governor.
HE was arrested in Abuja on Saturday afternoon shortly after attending a wedding ceremony of the daughter of one of his loyalists and Third Republic Kwara State Governor, Senator Shaba Lafiagi.
