Governors Of Niger, Jigawa Not Part Of Merger With APC

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, November 26, (THEWILL) – The Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu and the Governor of Jigawa State, Dr. Sule Lamido have broken ties with the group of aggrieved State Governors in the PDP known as the G7 and have not defected to the All Progressive Party (APC), THEWILL can authoritatively report.

Recall that the G7 and the splinter new PDP Tuesday merged with the APC.

UPDATE:

Speaking with THEWILL in a conference call after the APC/new PDP merger was announced, the Chief Press Secretary to the Niger State Governor, Mr. Danladi Ndayebo, distanced Dr. Aliyu from the merger saying he remains in the PDP.

Even though Dr. Aliyu was at the meeting where the merger was finalized, his spokesman said their talks were inconclusive and that the governor was shocked at the merger announcement.

“My principal remains in the PDP. He has not left the party, he is not a part of the merger…” Mr. Ndayebo said.

Also, a source familiar with the merger talks told THEWILL that Governor Sule Lamido wont be leaving the PDP at least for now as “he is finding it difficult to leave.”

The source who asked not to be named in this report described Lamido “as a strong party man and one of the founders of the PDP.”
