September 09, (THEWILL) – Operatives of the Department of State for Security (DSS) have invaded the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).
This is coming after the Secret police arrested Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, on Monday.
Confirming the raid in a brief statement on X, SERAP said the operatives, presently occupying its office, are “asking to see our directors”.
The statement reads: “Officers from Nigeria’s State Security Service (SSS) are presently unlawfully occupying SERAP’s office in Abuja, asking to see our directors.
“President Tinubu must immediately direct the SSS to end the harassment, intimidation and attack on the rights of Nigerians.”
SERAP is a civic advocacy organisation.
