SAN FRANCISCO, August 07, (THEWILL) – The Chief of Air Staff, CAS, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar believes that the recent suicide bombings and kidnappings by Boko Haram terrorists is an indication that the battleground was too hot for the insurgents hence their resort to attacking soft targets.
He said this on Monday while commending men of the Tactical Air Command of the Nigerian Air Force Yola for their gallantry and efforts in the ongoing war against insurgency which, according to him, has led to the degrading of Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East.
Abubakar also lauded men of the command for their efforts in maintenance and logistics support which he said made it possible for Nigerians in the North-East to live in a secure and safe environment and were able to go about their normal businesses.
“The Nigerian Air Force has expended slightly about 9,000 flying hours in its flight operations in the fight against terrorism in North East in the last two years.
“The success of the operation would not have been possible without the gallantry and dedication of the men of the Nigerian Air Force,” he said.
The Air Chief urged the men to redouble their efforts in order to sustain the progress made in the war against insurgency in the region.
He assured that the training and retraining of the Air Force personnel would be sustained to ensure the Boko Haram members were completely decimated.
