Bishop Tells Christians To Buy Swords And Defend Selves Against Herdsmen

SAN FRANCISCO, January 26, (THEWILL) – Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in Ughelli, Delta State, Bishop Diamond Emuobor, has called on Christians to defend themselves against murderous Fulani herdsmen in the country.

Speaking on Wednesday in response to the killings in Southern Kaduna, he stated that there is the need for Christians to “own a sword and defend themselves” against further attacks from the rampaging herdsmen.

Emuobor reasoned that the killings in the northern part of the country, particularly Kaduna state, was an attempt to wipe out Christianity, describing it as a war against God, which the perpetrators would not win.

The Trinity Gospel Mission General Overseer pointed out that it was not unbiblical for a Christian to defend himself against external aggressors.

His words, “Christians should defend themselves and he who has no sword, should sell his coat and buy one to defend himself. We are all human beings, nobody should catch you like a snail and slaughter because you believe in Jesus Christ.

“We all would not die and those of us, who are alive, have the right to defend ourselves. Jesus says in the Book of Luke that those who have no sword should sell their coats and buy one for the defence of their lives.”

The cleric however called on President Muhammadu Buhari to double his efforts towards bringing an end to the killing of Christians, particularly in the northern part of the country.
