BIPC Solicits Remittance Of N228m Deductions From Retired Civil Servants

March 26, (THEWILL) – The management of Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) has solicited the assistance of the Head of Service of Benue State, Moses Agbogbo Ode, to recover over N228 million deducted from the gratuity of retired civil servants but not remitted to the company.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, made the appeal during a courtesy call on the Head of Service at the State Secretariat on Tuesday, in Makurdi, the state capital.

The Managing Director explained that some occupants of the estates had complained of several deductions from their pensions and gratuities for some time but not remitted to the company’s accounts.

According to Dr. Asemakaha, his visit became necessary since both offices of BIPC and Head of Service are working for the progress of the Governor Hyacinth Alia administration, and for the benefit of the state at large.

He, therefore, appealed to the Head of Service to fast-track the release of some Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) BIPC is pursuing in the state Ministry of Land, Survey and Solid Minerals.

Responding, the Head of Service, Dr. Moses Agbogbo Ode, thanked the Managing Director and his entire team for the visit and promised to attend to all the requests made with immediate effect.

He directed the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Service Welfare, Mr. Terna Ayu, to look into all the issues raised and treat them with urgency, assuring his office is poised to work in synergy with other state agencies for the overall benefit of the Governor’s desire for a better Benue and future.

The Managing Director was accompanied by the Company Secretary, Barr. Ioryoosu Josephet Terna, and other management staff of the company.
