November 13, (THEWILL) – The member representing Katsina-Ala West Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Peter Ipusu, has awarded scholarships to one hundred students in twelve selected schools in the constituency.

The students, who were selected from Ikyurav Tiev 1 and 2, Hausa, Mbamom, Etilo and Tongov, were orphans and those with single parents as well as the three top students in all the classes in the 12 schools.

Flagging off the scheme at Tongov Community Secretary School, Amaafu, Hon. Ipusu emphasised the importance of education to the advertisement of any society.

According to him, he decided to take over the payment of school fees of the selected students to alleviate their plight and ensure that they achieve their academic pursuits in life.

The member representing Katsina-Ala West Constituency assured that the scholarship will be sustained to ensure that more students benefit and charged beneficiaries to take their studies seriously and avoid social vices that may be detrimental to their future.

He also assured of his readiness to sustain the attraction of people-oriented programmes and projects such as education, healthcare and empowerment to the constituency and thanked them for the confidence reposed in him to represent them in the Benue State House of Assembly.

In their separate remarks, the Majority Leader, Hon. Saater Tiseer; Minority Deputy Leader, Hon. Samuel Jiji; Commissioner for Information Communication Technology and Digital Economy, Mr. Amande Kwaghgba; traditional rulers, clergymen, party faithful and well-wishers at the ceremony, all commended Ipusu for his gesture to the needy.

The Majority Leader further advised beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity for their own good, noting that many may not have such privilege and called on people of the area to support one of their own to do more.

Some of the beneficiaries of the scheme, Isaiah of Tongov Community Secondary and Zepora Anyiin of NKST Secondary School, all expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for coming to their aid with the payment of their fees.

They prayed to God to continue to bless Hon. Ipusu with more opportunities to take care of the needy in the society, saying he would go far in his political journey beyond the Benue State House of Assembly lawmaking.
