September 27, (THEWILL) – The Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Terver Akase, has started consultations with a visit to the State Working Committee (SWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Makurdi.

While receiving Akase, the state chairman of the PDP, Sir John Ngbede, said the party in Benue was now stronger and more coordinated with Governor Samuel Ortom as its leader.
Ngbede stated that the SWC had been involved in all decisions that the present administration has taken since Gov Ortom rejoined the party in 2018, turning the party into one big, united and coherent family.
The state PDP chairman noted that as a close governor-appointee, Akase would do well as governor, pointing to his brilliance and other qualities that made him a good fit for the role.
He reiterated the party’s resolve to adhere to the tenets of equity, justice and fairness as enshrined in its constitution. He encouraged the aspirant to openly canvass for the support of leaders and critical stakeholders.
Akase, who was accompanied by his wife, friends and associates, told members of the SWC that he came to seek their blessing and permission to contest the 2023 governorship election on the party’s platform.
He added that having served Governor Ortom since the inception of the current administration, he was fully acquainted with the internal workings of the government and would uphold the tenets of a democratic government.
On security, the CPS said if elected, he would intensify the enforcement of all security laws already in place in the state and ensure no land is ceded to invaders, with the same courage and commitment that his boss has demonstrated.
