September 18, (THEWILL) – Awarding honorary doctorate degrees to celebrities in Nigeria has become one of the pastimes of Myles Leadership University, Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Some celebrities were rewarded by the institution for their notable accomplishments and generous contributions to their industry in the course of their respective careers.
Some of those who were recently honoured include martial art expert and life coach, Henry Hendrix, who is a three-time world Kungfu champion in China, was awarded a Doctor of Martial Arts for the 23 years he has spent as a mixed martial art practitioner both in Nigeria and on the International scene.
Relationship and marriage preacher, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, who is the founder of David Christian Centre, was awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Transformational Leadership. He was honoured for his outstanding contribution in the area of youth development and spiritual leadership.
Also, show business executive and promoter, Obi Asika, bagged a Doctor of Arts as a result of his work as an ecosystem builder and pioneer in the digital, entertainment and creative industries over the past three decades.
Seasoned actress Joke Silva was one of the dignitaries honoured by the university. She was awarded a doctorate degree in Arts and Entertainment for her contribution to the movie industry which spanned over two decades.
The Founder of Logic Church Global, Pastor Flourish Peters, also bagged a doctorate degree in Divinity from the reputable university. Deola Art Alade, the better half of sonorous singer, Dare Alade also got a doctorate degree in Arts and Entertainment. She was honoured for her contribution in show business in Nigeria.
A Nigerian disc jockey, Oluwaforijimi Amu, professionally known as DJ Jimmy Jatt, bagged a degree of Doctor of Music for his contributions as one of the pioneers of hip hop DJ in Nigeria.
