November 11, (THEWILL) – Real Madrid have been dealt a blow ahead of their La Liga clash with Valencia on Saturday evening, confirming that Jude Bellingham has been ruled out through injury.
The English midfielder, who joined Los Blancos from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, suffered a dislocated shoulder during last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Rayo Vallecano. While he was included on the bench for the midweek UEFA Champions League victory over Sporting Braga, Bellingham did not feature.
Now Madrid have revealed that the 20-year-old will miss the Valencia match after tests showed he has suffered anterior instability in his left shoulder as a consequence of the recent dislocation.
In Bellingham’s absence, manager Carlo Ancelotti is expected to turn to Brahim Diaz to fill the number 10 role. Diaz has struggled for minutes since returning from a loan spell at AC Milan, but scored in the 3-0 win over Braga.
Madrid will be hoping to close the gap on surprise league leaders Girona with a victory at the Bernabeu. Girona moved four points clear at the top after coming from behind to beat Rayo Vallecano 2-1 earlier on Saturday.
