November 18, (THEWILL) – Mostafa Mohamed and Trezeguet scored in Egypt’s 2-1 victory over Belgium in Kuwait in the country’s final pre-World Cup exhibition game.
Kevin De Bruyne made an unusual error, which Mohamed took advantage of to give the Pharaohs the lead. A minute later, Trezeguet added another goal to put the Pharaohs two goals ahead.
Lois Openda’s close-range effort cut the margin in half for the Belgians, but Roberto Martinez’s team was unable to tie the score, and they suffered their second straight loss ahead of the kickoff of the World Cup.

Before their journey to Qatar, where they are seeking to improve their run to the semi-finals at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Belgium’s setback revealed major defensive vulnerabilities and it is something they will have to work on before they can be exploited by Group F opponents Canada, Croatia and Mexico.
They begin the campaign in Qatar on Wednesday, November 23, against the Canadians, who beat Japan 2-1 on Thursday.
