November 24, (THEWILL) – Following reports that the Glazer family is eager to sell Manchester United, club legend David Beckham has indicated that he would be willing to take part in a bid to acquire the club.
As THEWILL reported, the much-maligned United owners revealed on Tuesday, that they are willing to sell the team, which was welcomed by the team’s supporters. Potential buyers have been identified, with United supporter and INEOS CEO Sir Jim Ratcliffe said to be the current front-runner, even though a spokesperson denied his interest.
Reports monitored by THEWILL claim that Beckham is willing to join any prospective buyer’s offer for the team. Beckham is eager and able to work with other investors to purchase the club as he is unable to do so on his own.
Beckham spent a remarkably successful ten-year period at Manchester United after climbing through the club’s youth ranks. He won six English Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League trophy during that time.
The former England captain later played for Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan, and PSG, but he still holds a special place in Old Trafford’s club history and would be a very significant asset to any takeover effort
