June 28, (THEWILL) – The list of clubs interested in the Real Madrid legendary centre-back, Sergio Ramos, keeps adding up and there is a new inclusion with the revelation that Bavarian giants Bayern Munich have indicated willingness to bring him to their side of the Bundesliga.

Bayern faces stiff competition from earlier contenders and interested clubs such as English Premier League champions Manchester City and former Ligue 1 holders Paris Saint-Germain that have weighed up negotiating for his services.

The 35-year-old is currently in the final week of his contract with Real Madrid and will officially be deemed a free agent at the end of this month. As THEWILL reported, negotiations to extend his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu fell through bringing his rewarding 16-year stay at Madrid to an end.

The twin factors of his age and long recovery times that come with age limited him to just 21 appearances in all competitions last season in Real. That was, by far, the lowest of his senior career to date.

Even if these reasons might have constituted a serious negative for his chances to get excellent offers, the natural-born winner, who has won every major trophy for club and country, possesses the experience to make him remain a major asset for the backline of any club at the highest levels.

That is why title winners like City and PSG are lining up to get the defender and links associated with luring him to their stadiums have been established ever since an exit from Real became more and more realistic. They have now been joined by Germany’s Bayern, winners of the 2019/2020 UEFA Champions League.

Ramos now has the headache of picking out what will be best for him given his own particular goals, the consideration for this family after 16 years in Spain and the incentives that come with each offer. All considered, it is possible his family will feature prominently, as a major factor likely to significantly influence which he decides to accept.

THEWILL reported how Bayern’s David Alaba inked a five-year deal with Real at the end of last month and it will be poetic for Ramos to move in the opposite direction. Apart from the exit of Alaba, Javi Martinez and Jerome Boateng are leaving this summer creating a defensive vacuum that Bayern need to plug.

Ramos will fit right in and has enough of his winning mentality to keep going for another season, if he can avoid injuries and lengthy layoffs.

Otherwise, Ramos can decide to join the renowned EPL where City are prepared to offer the Spaniard a two-year contract until 2023, something Real did not allow. The situation would then be assessed and he may be offered the chance to stay in Manchester or join sister club New York City in MLS, depending on his performance and preference.
