August 23, (THEWILL) Bayern Munich’s promising midfielder, Jamal Musiala, is set to take an unfortunate break after suffering a torn thigh muscle during a training session, the club announced on Wednesday.
The injury diagnosis, a torn muscle fibre in his left thigh, was revealed after Musiala completed his training. This setback could potentially see the 20-year-old sidelined for several weeks, including key matches against Augsburg and Borussia Moenchengladbach for Bayern, as well as Germany’s upcoming friendlies against Japan and France in September.
Having swiftly established himself as a pivotal member of both Bayern and Germany’s starting line-ups in recent seasons, Musiala’s contribution has been noteworthy. The young attacking midfielder impressively netted 12 goals and provided 13 assists across 33 league appearances during the 2022/2023 season, surpassing the combined tally of any other player in the Bayern squad.
Despite his English childhood roots and eligibility to play for the Three Lions, Musiala opted to represent Germany on the international stage. Musiala’s reputation as a breakout star of the Qatar World Cup has been further cemented by his 23 appearances and one goal for the German national team.
