November 13, (THEWILL) – Calvin Bassey is a major doubt for Nigeria’s international friendly against Portugal on November 17.
Bassey was included in Jose Peseiro’s 23-man squad for the game scheduled for Lisbon’s Estádio José Alvalade. However, the Nigerian international was injured in the 40th minute of Ajax Amsterdam’s 3-3 draw with FC Emmen on Saturday.
After being removed from the field and medically attended to, the defender soon resumed his duties. But, Bassey did not fully recover from the knock, and Mohammed Kudus of Ghana took his place at the start of the second half.
