Barcelona, Atletico Madrid Negotiate Transfer For Depay

January 20, (THEWILL) – Barcelona’s Memphis Depay has been permitted to train with Atletico Madrid as the teams negotiate a transfer.

The Netherlands international has seen limited playing time under Barcelona manager Xavi and his contract with the club is set to expire at the end of the season. Reports suggest that Atletico Madrid is willing to pay an initial €3 million for Depay, with the potential for the price to rise to €4 million with add-ons.

Both clubs have not yet reached a final agreement, but Atletico Madrid has confirmed that talks are in an advanced stage. Depay previously played under Atletico Madrid’s Manager, Diego Simeone, with the Netherlands national team.

Should the deal go through, Depay could make his debut with Atletico Madrid against Real Valladolid on Saturday.
