August 28, (THEWILL) – After being registered with La Liga, Jules Kounde has been added to Barcelona’s matchday roster to play Real Valladolid on Sunday.
The summer acquisition, who Barcelona paid up to €60 million for, to ward off Chelsea’s interest, was the last of the newcomers to formally register with La Liga and as a result, he was absent from the club’s opening two league games of the new season.
Kounde’s signing with La Liga earlier this week put an end to Barcelona’s worries that he would never be registered and might be eligible to leave for free as a result. This was made possible due to efficient salary adjustments at the Catalan side.
Kounde was just included in Barcelona’s squad for their friendly match against Manchester City, and now that he has been included, he could be in position to make his official debut in La Liga.
Kounde is joined in the team by forwards Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Memphis Depay, who have both been extensively linked with exits from the club before the transfer market closes on Thursday, September 1.
