January 31, (THEWILL) – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has arrived in Spain for a medical before joining Barcelona on loan. Mikel Arteta recently relieved Aubameyang of his captaincy at Arsenal, and he has been linked with a move away from the Emirates for some time.
Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia made a proposal earlier this month, while Newcastle were also interested. Aubameyang, on the other hand, has recently emerged as Barca’s top target. The Gabonese captain has now arrived in Catalunya to complete his medical.
If the deal is to be completed, Aubameyang will have to take a pay reduction and Arsenal will have to support his wages, according to initial details of the terms of his transfer.
The move is also not believed to be contingent on Ousmane Dembele’s departure, and can still be finalised even without a resolution of the Dembele protracted contract situation.
