March 14, (THEWILL) – Mikel Arteta joined in a big night for Arsenal at the London Football Awards, as he was named Manager of the Year.

The award comes after an impressive season for the Gunners, who are currently sitting at the top of the English Premier League table with a five-point lead. With only 11 league games left this season, Arteta’s team is showing no signs of slowing down in their pursuit of their first league title since 2004.

Furthermore, the North London club is the favourite to advance to the quarter-final of the Europa League after securing a 2-2 draw against Sporting CP in Portugal last Thursday. They also beat Fulham 3-0 in their most recent league game to re-establish their lead.

Bukayo Saka won the Young Player of the Year award for his impressive performance this season. Saka has become a talismanic figure for the club and has started every game for his team in the league this season. However, the EPL Player of the Year award went to Arsenal’s captain, Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale completed Arsenal’s sweep by taking the Goalkeeper of the Year prize.

Other notable winners at the London Football Awards include West Ham United legend, Mark Noble, who won the Outstanding Contribution to London Football award, and Chelsea striker, Sam Kerr, the Women’s Player of the Year winner. Arsenal stars, Leah Williamson and Beth Mead, received the Power of Football Award for their achievements in the Women’s European Championship, which the Lionesses won in 2022.
